Once upon a time a fire started in the forest ...
Nobody knew how, why, or who was responsible for it. The fire was spreading with such speed and power that it soon became uncontrollable. Frightful was its fury. In the distance, a terrible red-black cloud was advancing across the treetops accompanied by the agonized sound of devilish flames devouring the forest. Even worse was the outcry of the animals, running scared in every direction. Horrified by the apocalyptic spectacle, they all shouted:

“Save yourselves! It is the fire, it is the end, we are lost”.

Then they became furious when in the middle of this chaos, they saw what the Humming bird was doing. The little bird had flown quickly to the river, harvested a small drop of water in its beak, and was on its way to drip it on the immense fire. Then back again it went repeating its journey. One of the animals screamed:

“Small dull bird! You think that this tiny drop can extinguish the fire? Are you so stupid? Fly away, with these wings that you have! Save yourself! It is the end!”.

Softly, the humble bird answered: “Brothers and sisters, I am doing my part! if each one of us goes to the river, and harvests a little water, we will stop the fire and save our home”.
